I adore this family and was thrilled to photograph their wonderful Atlanta wedding celebration. The couple resides in New Orleans where the groom and his family have always lived. The bride chose to return to her hometown for the wedding.
Our weekend coverage began with the Friday rehearsal of the ceremony at Cathedral of Christ the King in Buckhead. We really enjoy working in this church with its striking blue stained glass windows and Gothic Revival architecture.
Wedding day coverage began at home for the preparations by the bride and her attendants. I love seeing and photographing heartfelt facial expressions and there were many happy moments witnessed from this close-knit family. We dispatched another team photographer to document the groom with his groomsmen and family at their hotel.
After the ceremony, we gathered groupings quickly at the altar then headed to Piedmont Driving Club for their spectacularly fun and beautiful reception held both in a tent and in the colorfully decorated and lighted ballroom. It was a high spirited celebration with lots of dancing and many elated well wishers. The couple departed on a sparkler lined path to their getaway convertible as they headed out to begin their married life together. Very well done indeed.
