It turns out that I had photographed this beautiful bride years ago when she was a junior bridesmaid at a close friend’s wedding. Her mother explained her family’s appreciation of photojournalism and the resulting natural expressions in wedding photographs. They sought me out for my quiet, documentary approach.
The weekend began with rehearsal coverage at Northside United Methodist Church, a wonderful ceremony setting where we have done many assignments over the years. We documented the scene at the bride’s home for preparations and family portraits before heading to church. Another team photographer was with the groom and his group as they prepared for the day at the host hotel.
The always elegant St. Regis Atlanta was venue for their lovely wedding reception. The evening’s celebration ended with a festive send off for the newlyweds as they made their getaway in a vintage white convertible.
